Qualifications

The Role: Client Finance Controller

This is a delivery-led, client focused role at the heart of WhiteCloud.

You’llown a portfolio ofclients,responsible forday-to-dayfinancial control, insight, forecasting, and decision support.

Yourwork closely with our advisory lead and help support strategic conversations, whilst developing the skill and confidence to grow into a client manager or advisory role over time.

You’llalso help shape howWhiteClouddelivers, improving systems, raising standards, and developing the team around you.

Whatyou’llactually do
Client Delivery & Financial Control
  • Prepare monthlymanagement accountsand supporting schedules
  • Draftcashflowforecasts and simple financial models inFutrli.
  • Support month-end processes includingaccruals, prepayments, journals, and reconciliations
  • Prepareannual accountsfor limited companies and sole traders
  • Review andsubmitVAT returns, escalating technical issues whererequired
  • DraftSelf Assessmentsand support basic personal tax work
  • Maintain clean,accurateclient records and working papers
Forecasting & Commercial Support
  • Build andmaintainsimple cashflow forecasts
  • Support senior team members with scenario planning and analysis
  • Identifytrends, risks, and anomalies in client data
  • Help turn numbers into clear, understandable outputs for clients
Client Service & Communication
  • Act as a reliable, professional point of contact for day-to-day client queries
  • Deliver consistentlyhigh levelsofcustomer service
  • Communicate clearly, calmly, and proactively with clients
  • Support Loom explanations and written financial commentary
  • Flag and elevate issues early to ensure excellent client outcomes
Systems & Process
  • Work confidently across Xero, Dext, and WhiteCloud’s wider app stack
  • Follow internal processes and quality standards
  • Contribute to improving workflows, templates, and efficiencies
  • Ensure data accuracy and consistency across systems

  • Strong grounding in bookkeeping, VAT, management accounts, and year-end preparation
  • Comfortable drafting cashflows and forecasts (advisory support provided)
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in high-quality work
  • Clear communicator with a genuine client-first mindset
  • Ambition to grow into a Client Manager / advisory role

You donotneed to be fully qualified, part-qualified, QBE, or studying is welcome.

As your experience and confidence develop, you’ll be supported to:

  • Take greater ownership of client relationships
  • Lead sections of monthly client reviews
  • Contribute to advisory discussions and recommendations
  • Progress into a Client Manager role with responsibility for client leadership and insight
  • Training, exposure, and progression are built into the role.
What You’ll Bring

ACA / ACCA qualified, part-qualified, or QBE with strong practice experience

A commercial mindset and confidence advising business owners

Strong communicationskills, you can explain numbers without jargon

Proven experience producing and reviewing management accounts and forecasts

Strong knowledge of Xero and Dext (cloud-first is essential)

A genuine interest in technology and better ways of working

A relationship-led approach, clients trust you and value your input
