Job description

As part of our continued success we are seeing a significant growth in our Civil Engineering/ Development Infrastructure workload and are looking to expand this team.

Project growth is evolving both in Scotland and the north of England, across various sectors, including industrial & logistics, commercial offices, housing and educational campuses.

We are therefore looking to appoint passionate, talented, and enthusiastic Civils Infrastructure Technicians to join our team in Glasgow to work on a range of live projects. The successful candidates will have several years of experience in a technical engineering environment.

Candidates will have a good educational background and be keen to play a key role as part of an enthusiastic and active team who are driven by quality design, with a focus on sustainable engineering and drainage solutions, and a commitment to successful project delivery.

Ideally, candidates would have experience in roads, drainage and earthworks drawing and detailing, utilising CIVILS 3D software, however training in these packages can be provided as required.

We provide the opportunity to work on a broad range of project types and scales, the majority of which are relatively local and likely to progress to construction stage, therefore allowing excellent experience. We work within a friendly studio environment that is both creative, passionate, practical, and design focused in its approach. The role will report to Senior Engineers and Project Directors and will work closely with a professional and experienced team of engineers and technicians.

We would expect the candidate to be working toward qualifications and would provide support through our Training Agreement and through mentoring. As part of the package, dedicated ‘Development Time’ will be granted to help enable professional development and progression to chartership.

This is an excellent opportunity with a successful engineering consultancy, and you will be rewarded with a competitive salary and benefits package, with career-propelling responsibilities and projects.

Routine Responsibilities
  • Undertake external works, roads and drainage design and modelling
  • Prepare and manage project documentation—including, but not limited to, models, drawings, construction specifications, key stage reports, statutory submission reports, design calculations, and project schedules
  • Represent the company in attendance at client and design team meetings
  • Mentor and guide junior staff to ensure project requirements are fulfilled to specifications
  • Be proactive in direct communication with clients and other project stakeholders
Skills & Qualifications
  • HNC/HND/Bachelors Degree in civil engineering preferred
  • Relevant prior professional experience
  • Civil 3D experience is preferred; general familiarity with Autodesk software is desired
  • Drainage design experience ideally utilising Infodrainage/Microdrainage software
  • Working knowledge of current compliance legislation—with an eye on future legal changes

In addition to the opportunity to work on exciting, award-winning projects, in an inclusive, creative, and supportive environment, we offer a range of employee benefits, including:

  • 1 day per month personal day
  • Support to Chartership
  • Cycle to Work Scheme
  • Membership of the Group Personal Pension Plan
  • Inclusion in the Company Life Assurance Plan
  • Recruitment Bounty Scheme
  • You may also be eligible for an annual incentive
  • Friendly office environment located within convenient and connected city centre locations
