We’re looking to appoint a talented Civil Engineer – Water Engineering, to join our fast‑growing Water Civil Engineering team in Manchester. In this role, you’ll play a key part in delivering innovative clean‑water and wastewater projects, working as a valued member of one of our project teams. You will contribute to projects for major water companies, either directly for our utility clients or in collaboration with contractors.

Core Responsibilities
  • Undertaking analysis and assist in the preparation of outline and detailed designs, drawings, reports, technical design calculations, specifications and contract documents under supervision.
  • Identifying and assessing the feasibility of options and solutions to deliver wastewater and/or clean water infrastructure and non‑infrastructure schemes across a number of regions in the UK.
  • Assisting in the management of projects, including having a financial understanding, from feasibility to completion.
  • Responsibility for carrying out discrete parcels of work accurately within set timescales.
  • Attending meetings, usually accompanied by senior staff.
  • Carrying out site inspections and surveys.
  • Supervising technicians and CAD technicians as required on a day‑to‑day basis.
  • Helping ensure projects are delivered to quality on time and budget.
  • Ensuring you understand and comply with all Health & Safety requirements, practices and procedures.
About You
  • A BEng in Civil Engineering, preferably with a focus or interest in water engineering.
  • Ambitions to achieve IEng or CEng.
  • Some work experience with consultant or contractor (desirable).
  • A solid understanding of engineering principles, hydraulic analysis, and clean water/wastewater treatment processes is desirable.
  • Familiarity with Health & Safety legislation (especially CDM) and CAD.
  • Strong written communication skills, including annotating drawings, and writing clear reports and letters.
  • A collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • A willingness to learn, grow and take on new challenges.
  • A creative and proactive approach to solving problems and developing innovative solutions.
