Job summary

A leading care provider in Loughborough is seeking a Childrens Home Registered Manager. You will develop care plans, lead a team, and ensure high standards of care for children in a residential setting. The ideal candidate will have experience in residential care, hold a Level 5 Diploma or be willing to obtain one, and possess strong leadership and communication skills. A full UK driving licence is necessary. This role offers a competitive salary and benefits.

Qualifications

Childrens Home Registered Manager

Location: Loughborough, England, United Kingdom

Contract: Full Time, Permanent

Working hours per week: 40

Salary: £50,000 - £55,000 per annum (DOE) + annual £5,000 bonus

Responsibilities
  • Develop comprehensive care plans tailored to each young person’s needs.
  • Build and maintain a high‑performing team through recruitment, induction and ongoing development.
  • Consult and involve young people in decisions about their care.
  • Assign a key worker to each young person.
  • Monitor and uphold high standards in line with National Minimum Standards and the Home’s Statement of Purpose.
  • Address complaints, child‑protection concerns and other issues in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with parents, carers and other professionals to promote the welfare of young people.
  • Represent the home in planning and review meetings as appropriate.
  • Maintain a safe, supportive culture and embed risk management and quality improvement processes.
  • Ensure effective commercial management of the home to meet budget expectations.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • At least 2 years’ experience in residential care of children, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent) or willingness to start within 6 months.
  • Understanding of Quality Standards, SCCIF, childcare legislation and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong planning, organisation, budget control, resource allocation and team leadership skills.
  • Excellent spoken and written communication.
  • Knowledge of trauma‑informed care and experience managing challenging behaviour.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Passion for making a difference to the lives of young people in care.
