Purpose of the Role
  • As Kids Planet continues its significant growth journey, we are strengthening our childcare integration function to ensure every newly acquired nursery receives a consistent, high-quality, and well-supported onboarding experience.
  • The Childcare Integrations Manager/Lead plays a pivotal role in delivering a smooth, structured, and tailored integration pathway for each new setting. This role balances the fundamental requirements of compliance, systems onboarding, and quality alignment with a personalised approach that reflects the unique needs and culture of each nursery.
  • A key part of this role is acting as the learning and development organisational Famly expert, ensuring all new nurseries understand and confidently use Famly as their operational platform for bookings, parent communication, learning and assessment, and day-to-day documentation.
  • Working closely with a wide range of departments, this role ensures that quality, compliance, curriculum foundations, and Famly system expectations are firmly embedded.
Key Responsibilities
Pre-Acquisition & Early Quality Profiling
  • Conduct early quality visits once Heads of Terms have been agreed, assessing practice, environment, pedagogy, leadership capacity, and safeguarding culture.
  • Review current operational systems and documentation processes- planning for Famly integration and a bespoke integration delivery.
  • Support the T&I Director in identifying early risks and themes and using this information to shape the integration plan.
  • Contribute to integration profiling, competitor analysis, and preparing setting-level readiness assessments.
Integration Planning & Coordination
  • Lead and develop a bespoke integration plan for each newly acquired nursery, based on early assessments, due diligence and Kids Planet priorities.
  • Build in Checkpoint meetings with T&I Director and Childcare Directors to review progress and plan next steps, shaping the pathway for integration
  • Monitor progression through monthly acquisition reviews with childcare directors and report monthly, adjusting plans according to risk and emerging priorities.
Famly Expertise & System Adoption
  • Serve as the organisation’s Famly specialist for learning and development during integration, ensuring new nurseries understand and embed: (training accessed through RISE)
  • Bookings and finance-linked scheduling
  • Parent communication and messaging
  • Child profiles, observations, assessments, and learning journeys
  • Accident/incident logging and documentation
  • Room planning, occupancy forecasting, and staffing insights
  • Provide on-site and remote support to help teams confidently transition from legacy systems to Famly.
  • Support leaders to use Famly to strengthen parent partnership, assessment accuracy, and operational visibility. Including newly acquired senior teams (area managers/early years advisors)
Leadership, Support & Communication
  • Act as the primary point of contact for Area Managers throughout the integration journey, coordinating support across Quality, Training, People, and Estates.
  • Build trust quickly with new teams, creating a positive first experience of Kids Planet.
  • Support early embedding of the Framework for Excellence, curriculum expectations, SEND practice and outdoor learning.
  • Quickly identify any gaps in leadership skills and build training and induction pathway in partnership with area manager.
Compliance, Standards & Operational Alignment
  • Ensure each setting understands and starts embedding Kids Planet regulatory standards, compliance expectations, and system requirements.
  • Monitor safeguarding, EYFS, H&S and compliance progress throughout integration, escalating concerns where needed.
  • Work with EYAs and AM teams to support early improvements in environment, curriculum, and practice, focusing on integration spend being agreed in a timely manner.
Preparation, Administration & Documentation
  • In partnership with integrations admin, build administrative support for integration activities to ensure clear documentation, reporting, and communication.
  • Oversee preparation and update of welcome materials, system guidance, integration documentation, and pre-acquisition resources.
  • Ensure integration trackers, Checkpoint notes, and progress reports are accurate and up to date.
Skills & Experience
  • Strong understanding of early years leadership, operations, and quality requirements.
  • Experience supporting nurseries to deliver high-quality outcomes for children.
  • Strong knowledge of EYFS, safeguarding expectations, and regulatory frameworks (Ofsted/CIW).
  • Confidence using and training company standards operating systems, Including Dayforce and Famly.
  • Ability to lead change, support teams through transition, and quickly build trust.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills.
  • Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple settings and competing priorities.
