Job Overview

We have an exciting opportunity to take on a Modern Apprenticeship for an excellent childcare setting in Paisley. Completing a Modern Apprenticeship will equip you with the skills and knowledge required to become a qualified Practitioner. The successful applicant will be assisting senior practitioners and training under the general direction of the manager. This is a full‑time position.

Typical Day

• Setting up the play environment for a fun‑filled day of learning
• Implement planned learning experiences in line with the Curriculum for Excellence
• Keep children safe and well at all times
• Assist with snack, lunch and dinner
• Play outdoors in all weather

Training & Qualifications

The Modern Apprenticeship takes around 12 months to complete and you will be working towards an SVQ 3 Social Services Children and Young People qualification. Once completed, you will become a fully qualified Childcare Practitioner. You will be employed by the nursery and l&g Learning will support you through your training. You’ll have a head start if you’ve completed a Foundation Apprenticeship in a related field. We’ll need you to provide evidence of your qualification and show that you gained the relevant skills from your placement. Eligibility: you should demonstrate a desire to work within the Childcare sector and have some form of relatable experience. Ideally you will have one National 5 qualification including English, but we understand that not everyone will have achieved this level and will take this into consideration.
