Research Chemist – Johnson Analytica Ltd

Johnson Analytica Ltd is recruiting for an experienced Research Chemist to join a small, developing team at our site in Oldbury, West Midlands.

Pay

Base pay range: Johnson test Papers pay range provided (actual pay based on skills and experience – discuss with recruiter).

Responsibilities
  • Develop new products to meet defined performance, cost and timescale targets.
  • Propose innovative solutions to aid business growth.
  • Work in the R&D department handling high‑hazard materials.
  • Apply techniques for handling sensitive materials.
  • Prepare and carry out experiments according to a set plan.
  • Plan and prioritise tasks effectively to ensure timely completion.
Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Chemistry (PhD desirable).
  • Experience with organic synthesis (desirable).
  • Knowledge and experience working with a variety of chemicals and reagents.
  • At least 1 year of experience in a chemistry laboratory environment.
  • Strong laboratory skills and product formulation experience.
  • Good interpersonal, organisational and communication skills; task‑orientated.
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills.
