Working Hours: 20 hours per week, Term Time Only (Monday to Friday)
Salary: £12.60 per hour (Welsh Living Wage, equated)

We are currently looking to recruit a Catering Assistant to join our friendly and dedicated catering team at Caldicot School. This is a fixed-term position until 22nd May 2026, working Monday to Friday during term time — ideal for someone seeking a great work/life balance.

As a key part of our school canteen service, you will play a vital role in delivering excellent food and customer service to pupils and staff.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Assisting with the preparation and serving of food in a busy canteen environment
  • Maintaining high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety
  • Providing excellent customer service in a friendly and professional manner
  • Supporting the catering manager and wider team during busy service periods
  • Helping ensure allergen procedures and health and safety standards are met
What We’re Looking For
  • Previous experience in catering, food service, or retail (desirable but not essential)
  • Knowledge of high-volume food production and allergen management
  • A positive, proactive approach and ability to work well in a team
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high standards
  • A friendly, professional attitude and willingness to learn
