As a Casual Trainer for St John Ambulance, you will work alongside our busy team of over 400 employed and casual trainers delivering and assessing a variety of First Aid and Health & Safety training courses to our workplace and community training customers.
Our customers are future lifesavers and come from a variety of backgrounds, so no training course is ever the same and you will have to be able to adapt to deal with different situations and learning styles. You must, therefore, remain passionate and engaging while delivering a pre-defined training syllabus, whilst having the expertise to adapt the pace and style to suit the audience

You will also be paid for your induction period during which you will learn to deliver our courses confidently and knowledgeably.

You will have a level 3 teaching and assessing qualification (such as CiLD or CTLLS), it would also be a distinct advantage to have first aid training experience. If you also have a NEBOSH, Mental Health or other relevant specialist qualification related to our suite of courses, we would also like to hear from you (we pay a premium for running specialist courses).
The role requires people to be able to travel to any of our many training venues or to our customer's premises, including transporting equipment and course materials and to be able to demonstrate first aid. Therefore, access to your own vehicle is a prerequisite as is being physically capable to perform the role. You must also have the right to work in the UK.
We normally expect casual trainers to be able to commit to working for at least a week a month. You must be well organised, motivated and your values must align with ours.
