Job description

Our Cash Reconciliation team are responsible for the posting and reconciliation of bank, payment channels and wholesale and partner transactions. As a Cash Reconciliation Assistant, you’ll assist in the operation of the Finance function by ensuring that all transactions are recorded, reconciled, and reported accurately in order to meet business requirements.

This is a full‑time, permanent role. As part of our Seasalt Connected approach to ways of working, this role will be based flexibly across our Cornwall head office locations (minimum 40% of working week but the nature of some roles may require more working time in our head offices) and remotely within the UK.

You’ll help us by:
  • Reconciling store and online transactions, including: cash, gift‑cards, loyalty cards, petty cash and payment transactions.
  • Recording and reconciling sales to e‑commerce partner accounts, such as Microsoft AX.
  • Reconciling bank and control accounts including external payment bodies where relevant.
  • Posting of accounting entries and preparation of audit working papers, updating as requested.
  • Posting of income received from Partners and Wholesale customers ensuring their correct allocation to the relevant customer account on AX.
  • Creating import journals and posting journal entries.
  • Identifying and resolving any issues where required.
  • Assisting the Credit Controller to ensure timely payment of Wholesale debt by sending copy invoices and credit notes on request, sending statement of accounts to customers, chasing up remittances, dealing with customer wholesale queries and maintaining the database.
  • Planning, managing, and improving Seasalt’s financial accounting systems and control processes by co‑ordinating and supporting Finance system testing and development, supporting internal and external project teams and suggesting improvements for efficiency.
The skills you’ll be sharing with the team:
  • IT literate with good working knowledge of IT packages including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook as a minimum.
  • Numerate with excellent attention to detail.
  • An analytical mind.

  • Organised with excellent time management.
  • Able to prioritise and work autonomously.
  • Good team player.
  • Excellent communications skills (IT, verbal, telephone and written).
