Overview

NRL is currently recruiting a Cable Routing Engineer to join one of our leading clients in their Nuclear Power Engineering and Technical Services team. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a high‑performing project team within a critical sector, supporting the delivery of complex engineering works on a key site within the UK’s nuclear fleet. You will work within a highly regulated environment and collaborate with a range of stakeholders to ensure the safe, timely, and efficient execution of engineering projects. You will be supported by experienced professionals and offered development opportunities to grow your project delivery and leadership skills in a respected, forward‑thinking organisation.

Responsibilities
  • Assess feasibility studies for design changes or open points impacting the routing activity.
  • Perform risk assessments and establish mitigation in the event of critical modifications.
  • Provide user feedback on the routing software (performance, weaknesses, troubleshooting) and apply beta testing.
  • Communicate updates and study progress to the routing weekly follow‑up meeting, layout team, or management board.
  • Provide training and introduction to the cable routing software, discipline, rules and regulations.
  • Participate in experience sharing activities (OPEX shared from other projects assessing possible integration for HPC).
Qualifications
  • Experience with RCC‑E electrical technical regulations and the technical reference system (NFC15‑100 / NF C 13‑200 / BS7671 / IEC 60909).
  • Strong knowledge of the nuclear field via educational curriculum or professional experience.
  • Strong knowledge of the quality processes involved in industrial nuclear projects.
  • Proficient use of CAD tools: PDMS/E3D, Navisworks, AutoCAD.
