We’re looking for a talented Business Lecturer to join the Business, Enterprise, Digital Technology and Creative Industries Department on a part‑time, fixed‑term contract. Lecturers are responsible for delivering all aspects of Business‑related subjects as well as planning, preparing, delivering and assessing a range of qualifications up to Level 10 to our students in a College that aims to be one step ahead.
We’re looking for a Business Lecturer who can deliver a range of Business‑related subjects such as Accounting, Law, Enterprise and Economics and who is a professional in what they do. You will have a qualification at SCQF Level 10 or equivalent. We embrace diversity here at Dumfries and Galloway College and welcome applications from across our community. You should be motivated, enthusiastic and self‑driven, with excellent communication and team‑working skills, and the ability to work independently to achieve your teaching goals. Experience of a similar teaching role is desirable but not essential. You should continue your own professional development and be able to deliver lessons in a virtual and on‑campus environment, including developing a working knowledge of the College platforms used for teaching and administrative purposes. You should have a critically evaluative and reflective approach to your teaching practice and endeavour to achieve and maintain high standards of excellence. Experience using MS Office is essential and the post requires hybrid working. Proficiency in digital skills relevant to the role is required, including experience using MS Office and any job‑specific software/systems. Adaptability to evolving digital opportunities and a willingness to continuously improve digital competencies are also required.
