About the role
KPED is recruiting a Business Development Officer who will work within the Business Development team and be responsible for supporting the development of the university’s professional education portfolio. The successful candidate will work across King’s faculties, liaising with external and internal clients and overseeing programme‑related development. This will involve a variety of activities including business development, contract drafting, proposal and tender support, budget drafting and people and project associated administrative activities.
KPED’s project portfolio is growing rapidly and expanding to include opportunities afforded through online and blended modalities. The post holder will be responsible for supporting those effective mechanisms to enable such activities to 1) run efficiently and mitigate risk 2) extend the King’s portfolio and 3) build King’s international brand.
The role is primarily based at King’s Strand Campus; however, the post holder may be required to travel to other locations on occasion, be prepared to attend events in the evening/at weekends and may be required to undertake national and international travel.
All team members can work remotely for part of the week if they wish to do so, subject to the demands of the post.
This is a full‑time post and you will be offered a fixed‑term contract for 14‑months. This is a fixed‑term role to provide a temporary backfill for a maternity cover.

The Comprehensive Cancer Centre is within the School of Cancer and Pharmaceutical Sciences and brings together world‑class clinical services, delivered by NHS partners, research and education to the benefit of cancer patients in south east London and beyond.
The King’s Health Partners Cancer Biobank is a core component of the Comprehensive Cancer Centre. The Biobank has been supporting translational cancer research at a national level since the 1970s and provided a significant number of samples during that time, covering different cancer types. These samples have been acquired under documented procedures and linked to verified clinical data. KHP Cancer Biobank samples and data have been cited in more than 350 peer‑reviewed publications. The Biobank has a team of more than 15 full‑time staff, including Advanced Practitioners, Consent Coordinators, Quality Manager and Specialist Technicians.
The post is based in the Innovation Hub, Guy’s Cancer Centre, Guy’s Hospital.
About The Role
This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and driven individual to join the KHP Cancer Biobank.
We are seeking a motivated individual to join our team as a Business Operations Office. This is a new post which supports expansion of collection of samples and data into the Cancer Biobank for research use.
You will monitor and track Guy’s and St Thomas’s NHS Trust patients who have been diagnosed with cancer for their routine attendance at clinics. The aim is to give sufficient time to provide information about the Biobank, seek consent and collect biological samples at their next visit. The pathways for patients with different types of cancer are varied and hence, you will have support in learning about these.
You will be required to use the NHS Trust digital medical records to monitor a large group of patients who have already given consent to biobank samples and data. Hence, organisational skills and ability to work to deadlines is essential in this post.
You will work with a wide range of staff, as part of the Biobank team, the wider KCL community and with our NHS Trust partners.
This is a full‑time (35 hours per week) post and will be offered on a fixed‑term contract until 31/03/2027.

The Senior Business Operations Officer is part of a team supporting business operations based in King’s Foundations, which is part of the Centre for International Education and Languages (CIEL), and provides support for key operational functions of HR, finance and procurement, space, health and safety, compliance and initiatives related to people and culture.
The post holder supports established processes and systems across these operational areas, developing a level of expertise in the relevant procedures and an understanding of local needs. They work independently, using their own initiative and judgement in problem solving, risk identification, and to determine short‑term priorities. They collaborate with the King’s Foundations management team and diverse stakeholders across the university and externally to deliver efficient and effective business operations. Utilising their knowledge and expertise, the post holder is expected to make timely and considered decisions, discussing and escalating more complicated matters that have a wide impact.
About the role
The post holder has responsibility for the day‑to‑day oversight and usage of the local finances, both pay and non‑pay budgets, generating purchase orders, invoices and foreign payments, journalling miscoded transactions and monitoring income and expenditure. They will manage operations associated with staffing using the King’s College London (KCL) HR system (PeopleXD).
They will use standard operating processes and procedures, and work closely with their manager and wider team to ensure compliance with regulations governing local activities. They will support the day‑to‑day and longer‑term planning to ensure that all activities are delivered to a high standard. They will work collaboratively to improve processes to make them as efficient as possible.
The post holder may be expected to manage projects and resources and deputise for their manager, working to put in place ongoing business continuity and service resilience.
The post would suit someone who is proactive in delivering and coordinating a range of activities and is able to work independently, effectively managing competing priorities and has a good attention to detail. They will be a problem‑solver and an advocate for process improvement and innovation. They must also be able to build and maintain effective working relationships across King’s Foundations, CIEL and central KCL teams to facilitate operational delivery and planning, and be committed to principles of culture, equality, diversity and inclusion and supporting cultural change.

We are looking to recruit a talented Business Support Officer to join the Philanthropy & Alumni Engagement (P&A) team at King’s College London.
The Business Support Officer provides crucial and comprehensive support for the Business Operations team to help ensure the continued success and evolution of the department. It is a fast‑paced and varied post that will offer operational and administrative support to cover a diverse range of tasks, from planning and delivering team engagement activity, through to recruitment and onboarding, to supporting on financial analysis and reporting. They work closely with the Business Manager KCL Philanthropy and the People & Talent Manager but will also be a part of the wider Business Operations unit that ensures P&A is an efficiently and smoothly functioning unit.

The post holder leads on the university’s information governance strategy, including the development of university policy and strategy relating to freedom of information, data protection, records management, data governance and information security. In discharging these responsibilities, the DPO will manage and develop a team of specialists and provide oversight of Data Protection, Records Management, Freedom of Information and e‑privacy regulation arrangements. They will shape the strategy, planning, policies, processes and improvement initiatives of the University in respect to these areas.
