Sharpsmart are looking for a driven Business Development Manager to join our team — someone who thrives on winning new business and creating long-term value for healthcare clients.

In this sales-focused role you will lead new business growth within the NHS and private healthcare sector. You’ll identify and secure new opportunities for Sharpsmart waste management systems and services, building strong relationships with key clinical and procurement stakeholders.

Your goal will be to drive territory growth through proactive prospecting, pipeline management, and strategic selling — from first contact through to contract close.

Your role will involve
  • Identify, target, and convert new business opportunities within healthcare organisations.
  • Build relationships with key decision-makers, influencers, and procurement teams.
  • Deliver engaging sales presentations and proposals that clearly communicate ROI and safety benefits.
  • Develop and execute a robust sales plan for your territory, consistently meeting or exceeding revenue targets.
  • Work with internal teams to design tailored solutions that meet client needs and ensure a seamless onboarding experience.
  • Keep ahead of market trends and competitor activity to position Sharpsmart as the preferred partner.
  • Maintain an accurate and up-to-date sales pipeline using CRM tools.
Candidate Profile
  • Proven track record of success selling into UK public and private hospitals in either field sales or business development positions
  • Results-driven with a strong ability to close deals and deliver against ambitious targets.
  • Skilled communicator and negotiator, comfortable influencing at multiple levels.
  • Organised, proactive, and self-motivated — able to manage your own diary and territory effectively.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel, including overnight stays.
