Job Description:

Do you love the tradition of baking from scratch? Have been loving your craft for a few years? If your answer is yes, then we want to chat to you about joining us our awesome team at Kirk's. Working alongside the wider Kirk's baking team, we are looking you to compliment us with your skills as a baker. You will know what it takes to get the job done and the dedication needed.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Prepare and bake a wide range of bread following established recipes and techniques.
  2. Monitor baking processes, including temperature and cooking times, to ensure that baked goods are cooked to perfection and meet our quality standards.
  3. Coordinate with other bakery staff to ensure timely production and delivery of baked goods, communicating any special requests or requirements.
  4. Maintain cleanliness and organisation in the bakery kitchen, including equipment, workstations, and storage areas, following food safety and hygiene standards.
  5. Assist with inventory management, including monitoring ingredient levels, ordering supplies and rotating stock to ensure freshness.
  6. Stay updated on current baking trends, techniques and ingredients, and incorporate new ideas and innovations into our bakery's offerings.
  7. Collaborate with bakery management to develop new recipes and menu items, contributing your creativity and expertise to the bakery's continued success.
  8. Uphold company policies and procedures, including health and safety regulations, to maintain a safe and positive working environment for all staff members.
Qualifications:
  • Strong knowledge of baking techniques, methods and ingredients, with the ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to quality, with a passion for creating delicious product.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple tasks and deadlines while maintaining high standards of quality.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with other bakery staff.
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays, as needed.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to stand for extended periods and lift and move heavy trays and equipment as needed.
