Job description

Ridge and Partners LLP is recruiting an Associate Mechanical Engineer to join our Cardiff MEP team.

Responsibilities
  • Lead MEP engineering teams delivering a range of project work.
  • Manage risk within MEP engineering projects with strong commercial acumen.
  • Act as the lead engineer in a design team, responsible for mechanical building services concept and detailed design.
  • Supervise and monitor the work of others in this function.
  • Mentor and develop junior engineers.
  • Produce reports, drawings and specifications to suit various RIBA design stages.
  • Use specialist CAD and BIM (Revit) software and other resources to design the systems required for the project.
  • liaise closely with other professionals, including structural engineers, architects, surveyors, and contractors of in‑house and external project teams.
  • Attend a range of project group and technical meetings.
  • Ensure that the design and maintenance of building systems meet legislative and health and safety requirements.
Experience and Skills Required
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Ability to foster long‑term productive working relationships.
  • Significant experience within a mechanical building services design role from either a consultant or contractor background.
  • Accredited relevant degree or higher educational qualification in an applicable discipline (HNC/HND).
  • Achieving or working towards IEng or CEng status.
  • Excellent communication skills and willingness to work as part of a close‑knit team towards a shared goal.
  • Attention to detail and a strong desire to deliver high standards of client care.
