Role description
This opportunity sits within the Asset Management Transformation team, part of our UK Business Advisory practice. The team enhances organisational maturity to maximise value from built or natural assets over the lifecycle, supporting better decisions through best practices, innovation, planning, upskilling, and data-led decision-making.
Our Asset Management Transformation team provides advice and delivers change programmes across infrastructure, asset types and sectors including Rail, Roads, Water, Electricity Utilities, Defence, Environment, Central and Local Government. Our experts collaborate with specialists across Arcadis to provide market insights and practical implementation advice. The scope of our services includes:
- Transformation strategy and capability development across business, data and digital
- Strategic asset management planning and decision support through the lifecycle
- Benefits-led decision making for asset or capability improvement projects and portfolios
- Operational process and performance improvement
- Regulatory, risk and resilience advisory
Role accountabilities:
- Lead significant client projects and accounts from sales/bidding to solution design, delivery and knowledge capture, including management of multi-disciplinary teams and delivery of commercial outcomes for Arcadis.
- Diagnose and tackle complex asset-centric issues across large-scale engagements, designing and implementing solutions that deliver benefits and value.
- Lead teams that use insights on markets, trends, risks and opportunities to inform client solutions and recommendations.
- Lead business development and sales for value propositions, including leadership of bids, to grow the Asset Management Transformation capability and the wider Business Advisory unit.
- Manage delivery of exceptional client experience from mobilisation to handover, understanding client needs and building lasting relationships.
- Be a subject matter expert and thought leader within one or more value propositions, developing offerings.
- Active member of the UK&I and global asset management community of practice, supporting solution development.
- Provide line management, coaching and mentoring to future talent within the consultant community.
- Support and own aspects of the team’s strategy and capability-building activities.
- Support on-project development of team members' skills to help them achieve career goals.
Qualifications & Experience
We are looking for someone with an entrepreneurial and inclusive mindset who can grow client relationships and deliver impactful solutions in asset management transformation, either from a built asset or consulting background. A proven professional in the asset environment is preferred, with experience growing a business and delivering results.
- Demonstrable track record of leading asset management or management consulting projects in relevant sectors (Infrastructure, Transportation, Water, Energy, Utilities, Defence).
- Thought leadership in asset lifecycle phases (strategy and planning, design and build, operations and maintenance, or decommissioning).
- Experience with asset management operating model design and transformation programs.
- ISO 55001 aligned asset management system development.
- Regulatory business planning and adaptive planning.
- Asset portfolio investment prioritisation and optimisation.
- Benefit-led prioritisation of asset management improvements and business change programs.
- Operational efficiency improvement.
- Asset information and data maturity improvement.
- Significant experience in business development, bidding and securing sales in a consulting environment.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management at senior levels (Board/Exec level).
- Strong team leadership, collaboration and commercial management skills.
- Ability to understand business problems and propose practical improvement recommendations.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline. Relevant industry qualifications (e.g., MCA, IAM) or working towards one are preferable.
