A healthcare organization is seeking an Assistant Practice Placement Facilitator to join their Practice Education Team. The role involves ensuring high-quality placements for nursing and allied health students while supporting and mentoring practice supervisors. Candidates must be registered professionals with experience in learner support and education. The position offers a pro-rata salary range of £38,682 to £46,580 for part-time work (30 hours/week) and requires flexibility to travel across Trust sites.

If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our Practice Education Team as an Assistant Practice Placement Facilitator (PPF) within South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust (STSFT). You will help us to support the expansion of student placement capacity, whilst ensuring students are provided with high quality placements and learning opportunities across our hospital and community environments. Our PPF team are key roles within the Corporate Nursing and Quality directorate and are there to coach, guide and support student Nurses, Midwives and Allied Healthcare Professionals whilst on placement in STSFT.

The role of the Assistant Practice Placement Facilitator (PPF) within the NMAHP Education Team (Nursing, Midwifery & Allied Health Professions) is to support the team PPFs in ensuring the quality of practice learning and clinical learning environments and continuously improve the learner's experience.
The successful candidate will contribute to the quality assurance of a range of programmes of education by participation in educational audit and actively seeking feedback from students, supervisors/assessors, preceptors and service users in clinical practice.
You will be a keen advocate of continuous quality improvement and support the team to both improve learner experiences in clinical practice areas and increase our student capacity.

The role of the Assistant Practice Placement Facilitator (PPF) within the NMAHPEducation Team (Nursing, Midwifery & Allied Health Professions) is to ensure the quality of practice learning and clinical learning environments meet and exceed standards.
The Assistant PPF will support the quality of learning in the clinical learning environment by providing support, educational input and development activities for practice supervisors/practice assessors, preceptors and students/learners on a variety of pre‑registration, preceptorship (band 5 newly qualified practitioners) and care certificate programmes (bands 2‑4 Healthcare Assistants/Support Workers).
The Assistant PPF will work predominantly with and support the Practice Placement Facilitators (PPFs) with current and future cohorts of university‑based pre‑registration students, trainees (such as Trainee Nursing Associates) and apprentices, facilitating equitable access to clinical learning resources and environments for all learners.
They will support the practice supervisors, practice assessors/educators and preceptors by providing advice and support to enable learners to meet clinical learning objectives in practice.
They will contribute to the quality assurance of the programmes by participation in education audit and actively seeking feedback from students, supervisors/assessors, preceptors and service users.
The Assistant PPF will support the PPFs in helping to meet the responsibilities in providing high quality placements in sufficient numbers to meet the requirements of students on healthcare training programmes.
In collaboration with Higher Education Institutes, they will assist the PPF in the management of the portfolio of student placements within the Trust, help identify new placement areas and those areas where capacity may be expanded.
Contribute to ensuring the quality of existing placements by identifying areas of good practice and to offer support and guidance to students where appropriate, in relation to problems that may be highlighted in practice placement areas. Support practice educators/assessors/supervisors in clinical practice if they are having difficulties with students.
The Assistant PPF will also work with the Preceptorship and Care Certificate programme leaders when required in order to support new HCAs/Apprentices and newly qualified staff and their supervisors/preceptors in practice. They will assist with teaching and facilitation of programmes (Preceptorship and International Nurses Support and Care Certificate), when required under the direction of the Head or NMAHP Education.
The post holder will work under the direction of the Head of NMAHP Education and Lead Nurse for NMAHP Education and will be expected to use their initiative, analytical skills and judgement.
The post holder is expected to work across Trust sites; including South Tyneside and Sunderland acute and community services and Durham Treatment Centre, when required.
