Assistant Driller / Labourer

Role Description

The role is based in Gloucester and involves travelling to sites across the UK and occasionally to Europe. No prior land drilling experience is required: this entry‑level role offers scope for progression to lead driller. Travel to sites during the working week and stay local to the drilling site Monday – Friday. PPE, single accommodation or travel expenses will be provided. Daily commuting to the depot is required; the successful candidate will reside within a reasonable commute from Gloucester.

Role accountabilities
  • Assist the Lead Driller as part of a two‑person team to complete drilling projects across the UK (and occasionally Europe).
  • Drive to sites, set up and advance boreholes, install and monitor drilling equipment, collect ground samples, ensure safe work areas and follow health & safety procedures.
  • Receive training from day one to become a competent Assistant Driller; enrol in an NVQ after the probationary period.

Progression opportunities include in‑house training, apprenticeships and NVQs in Land Drilling to become a qualified Lead Driller.
