Job Title: Assessment Operations Coordinator

Salary: £24,900 - £28,650

Location: Cambridge, Hybrid (at least 2 days per week in the office)

Contract: x1 Permanent / x1 Fixed Term (until July 2026), Full Time (35 hours per week)

About the role

These are exciting times for Cambridge University Press & Assessment as we look to modernise our systems and strive to find creative and innovative ways to improve our products and services to customers. To enable us to meet the ever increasing demand for our services, we are seeking to appoint an experienced, enthusiastic and dynamic Assessment Operations Coordinator, who will thrive in this changing environment and is motivated by delivering excellent customer service.

This role, within the Cambridge English Qualifications team, encompasses a range of tasks and responsibilities. Reporting to a line manager, you will need to establish a high standard for the following activities:

  • Using a wide range of systems and processing platforms to complete a variety of documented, business critical processes accurately and within pre-agreed timescales
  • Providing reports on progress and KPIs as required to members of management
  • Creating, reviewing, and updating comprehensive and compliant Process Flows and Work Instructions to support business compliance and ensure process accuracy
  • Identifying ways of developing processes and supporting colleagues in the implementation of improvement.
  • Developing an understanding of our internal and external customers, including what their needs are and how they relate to processes the jobholder is responsible for completing
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation and key external stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of our exams

This position has been classified as a hybrid role, requiring the selected candidate to typically spend 40-60% of their time collaborating and connecting face-to-face at their dedicated location. Aside from our hybrid principles, other flexible working requests will be considered from the first day of employment, including other work arrangements should you require adjustments due to a disability or long-term health condition.

About you

The successful candidate will be an instinctive collaborator, consistently demonstrate a high-attention to detail and be able to work effectively under pressure and to demanding deadlines. To succeed in this role, you must meet the following minimum requirements:

Education:

  • Educated to GCSE level with Grade C or higher in English and Maths (or equivalent), or relevant business experience.

Experience:

  • Proven experience in following documented processes and procedures.
  • Experience providing high-quality customer service and collaborating effectively with colleagues across locations.

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Strong attention to detail, logical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize workload, meet strict deadlines, and adapt quickly to change.
  • Excellent spoken and written English communication skills.

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to work semi-autonomously and take responsibility for assigned tasks.

  • Experience writing process or training documentation.
  • Knowledge of design software (Adobe Pro).
