Salary – NMW plus 3% age dependent (breakdown per age group as below)

Apprenticeships are high quality, work-based training programmes for people who want to develop their prospects and career. The programme provides work-based training to those who want to learn new skills and gain qualifications while working.

Ursuline Catholic Primary school are looking to recruit an apprentice who is committed and motivated to complete the 21 month programme.

Responsibilities
  • Work with and supervise individuals and groups of children under the direction/instruction of teaching and/or senior staff, inclusive of specific individual learning needs, enabling access to learning for all pupils and assistance and support in classroom management and behaviour techniques and providing specialist support in a specific curricula/resource area.
  • Provide consistent support to all pupils, establish good working relationships whilst acting as a role model, setting high expectations and assisting with their development whilst promoting inclusion, independence and improving their self-esteem.
  • Support the teacher in the classroom and prepare lesson plans, display children’s work, monitor and evaluate pupils and undertake any clerical/administrative work required to support this aim.
  • Support the Curriculum and school, by complying with all school policies and procedures, contributing to the school ethos, supporting and delivering agreed learning activities and programmes according to pupil learning styles and individual needs, utilising any specialist support to pupils with SEN to meet the curriculum.
  • The post holder may reasonably be expected to undertake other duties commensurate with the level of responsibility that may be allocated from time to time.

The post will be based at Ursuline Catholic Primary School, Nicholas Road, Blundellsands, L23 6TT
