Role description

Our Apprenticeship programme offers an exciting opportunity to jump straight into the professional world and earn a living while studying for professional qualifications. As an Apprentice you will play an active part in driving your career development and be exposed to a variety of projects across the business. You will be supported by your line manager to develop the knowledge, skills, and behaviours needed to meet your apprenticeship and work toward accreditation or chartership where applicable. You’ll join a supportive Early Careers community and work alongside skilled professionals. Role accountabilities

Our Cost Consultants support cost, commercial, and transformational consultancy projects. Cost consultancy involves advising on and managing the cost of construction and property projects from the beginning of the project lifecycle to influence and drive decision‑making. You will support clients with cost estimation, project planning, procurement, and cost management; and advise on project finances and contractual relationships. You will monitor budgets and costs throughout the project lifecycle, keeping the client and project team informed.

Apprenticeship details
  • England: BSc Chartered Surveyor Degree through agreed training providers (University of Salford, London South Bank University, Birmingham City University).
  • Scotland: BSc Graduate Apprenticeship Construction and Built Environment (Quantity Surveying) through agreed training provider Heriot Watt University.
Qualifications & Experience
  • England: Minimum of 5 GCSE qualifications, grade 4–9, including Maths and English; 3 A‑Levels or equivalent at BCC minimum, or BTEC National Diploma at DMM minimum.
  • Scotland: Minimum SQA Highers at ABBB or equivalent, or A‑Levels at ABC or BBB.
  • UK/EU/EAA resident for at least three years prior to starting the course and right to work in the UK.
  • 18 years old (Level 6) and have left full‑time education when the apprenticeship starts.
  • Demonstrate typical Arcadian skills: resilience, creativity, analytical thinking, and teamwork.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to use technical knowledge to influence and consult stakeholders.
  • Willing to travel and stay away from home when required (virtual working is embraced where possible).
