Job description
Overview

Apprentice Project Engineer- Controls — Manchester. You will be based out of our Manchester office; however customer visits will be required across the UK, especially in the North and Midlands. You need to be flexible to travel and stay away from home.

To get on this apprenticeship programme we require 5’s or C’s in your GCSE English and Maths. Please include your certificates with your application alongside your UK Driving licence.

We’re talking about the complex software and hardware that controls the electrical and mechanical systems within a building. These systems control lighting, security, fire safety, HVAC and can help reduce carbon emissions and increase operational efficiency. You’ll be working on large projects including hospitals and government buildings.

What You’ll Be Up To
  • Deliver BMS projects for industrial, commercial, and residential markets
  • Consulting with clients to enhance their buildings, reduce running costs and emissions, and improve overall performance
  • Gain a solid understanding of the main areas our systems interact with, including HVAC controls, mechanical, electrical, and building services systems
  • Your mentor will guide you in fundamental BMS engineering principles, teaching you innovative methods to lower energy costs, reduce emissions, and improve building efficiency
  • Create detailed project plans for various systems, ensuring compliance with industry and legislative standards
  • Visit a wide variety of customer sites and businesses — you must be a confident driver

What You’ll Need
  • GCSEs in English & Maths — Grade 5 (C) or above; IT would also be great
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Happy to travel, work away and stay over in hotels when needed
  • Good vibes: team spirit, hardworking, communication skills, and a love for technology and engineering
