Job summary

A local volunteer organization in Hertfordshire is seeking volunteers to assist with horse care tasks, including grooming and field maintenance. Volunteers must be over 18 and have an up-to-date DBS check. This is a unique opportunity to support therapeutic equine activities for children and individuals with additional needs. Flexible hours available Monday to Friday, with some weekends.

• Strictly over 18 years old for insurance purposes.
• Up-to-date Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check required to be on site.

Responsibilities

• Help provide care for horses, including grooming and general horse care.
• Poo picking and field maintenance.
• Making haynets, feeding, and cleaning/sweeping out field shelters and pathways.
• Participate in any other horse-based tasks you would like to get involved in.
• Role can be completed Monday to Friday between 9:30 and 4:00 pm; some weekend opportunities available for the right person.

Qualifications

• Strictly over 18 years old for insurance purposes.
• Up-to-date Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check required to be on site.
• Note: This is an "unsupported" role; it is not part of a 1:1 programme progression to "supported volunteering" where staff directly support volunteering.
