A major healthcare provider in Stoke-on-Trent is seeking an Administrative Assistant to handle telephone inquiries and manage patient records effectively. The role requires strong communication skills and proficiency in office software, ensuring timely documentation and support for clinical staff. This fixed-term position offers full-time hours and a salary of £24,465 annually.
University Hospitals of North Midlands (UHNM) is currently unable to provide sponsorship for this role. This is in accordance with UKVI guidelines and legislation, as these roles do not meet the skill nor salary threshold for sponsorship. The role involves handling incoming and outgoing telephone inquiries, directing them to the appropriate departments or individuals. You'll be responsible for maintaining clear and effective communication with patients, their families, GP practices, carers, and the general public. The position requires generating and typing clinical correspondence following patient appointments, as well as performing other administrative typing duties to ensure accurate and timely documentation.

The post holder is responsible for the accurate and timely typing of clinical letters across all specialties, the distribution and filing of documents, managing patient health records, handling telephone enquiries, and ensuring compliance with the Patient Access Policy and Divisional guidelines relating to waiting list management.
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
