Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join the Secretarial Team within the Dermatology Department for a Band 2 Administration Assistant. The post holder will be required to provide an efficient administrative service to the clinicians and their teams.

The successful candidate will work within a team of secretarial staff, but also have the ability to work independently. They will be required to follow Policies and Procedures.

The successful candidates will be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, flexibility, reliability and must have an organised approach to work.

Main duties of the job

This role involves working closely with patients, medical and nursing staff. Post holders will be required to provide an efficient administrative service

The role will include:

  • Talking to patients over the telephone and ensuring their queries are dealt with efficiently
  • Keeping VR dictation and typing up to date for the clinical team
  • Opening and distributing post
  • Making ad-hoc appointments
  • Ad-hoc admin duties as requested by the clinical team
