Job summary

A leading accounts firm is seeking an Accounts Assistant for internal promotion. Responsibilities include managing the accounts payable process, cash posting, and supporting the billing function. Successful candidates will ideally have over 2 years of experience in an accounts or finance role, along with strong administration and organisational skills. A collaborative work ethic and the ability to meet deadlines are essential for this full-time position based in London.

Qualifications

  • Ideally 2 years’ experience working in accounts/finance function.
  • Experience in accounting system experience is required.

Responsibilities

  • Managing accounts payable mail box.
  • Handling cash posting and staff expenses.
  • Involved in month-end accounts tasks.
  • Supporting the billing function and processing invoices.
  • Assisting with yearly audit.

Skills

Overview

Accounts Assistant - this role is for an internal promotion.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
  • Accounts payable controller - managing the AP mail box along with all things related to AP
  • Cash posting
  • Staff Expenses
  • Involved in month end accounts tasks i.e., prepayments, other balance sheet reconciliations
  • Commissions admin support
  • Support for the billing function – processing invoices and credit notes when required
  • Assisting with yearly audit
  • Ad-hoc tasks
Skills and Experience
  • Ideally 2 years’ experience working in accounts/finance function
  • Experience in Sage 200 preferable but not necessary. However, needs to have prior accounting system experience
Person Specification
  • Ability to work to a deadline
  • Calm, confident manner to handle potentially uncomfortable conversations
  • Strong administration and organisational skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
