Job description

The successful candidate will form part of our team of casual staff who are responsible for providing medical cover for schoolboy training, rehabilitation and matches for the under 9’s-16’s age groups. Providing injury assessments, rehabilitation, and return to play of injured schoolboy players at the Academy. Working closely with the U9-16 Physiotherapist / Sport Therapist and Schoolboy Sports Scientist to deliver an injury prevention programme.

  • To be a reliable and hardworking member of our casual physiotherapy / sport therapy team who provide medical cover for U9-16 training sessions and games.
  • Provide assessment of injuries, rehabilitation and return to play for schoolboy players. This will involve communication with full-time physiotherapy, schoolboy sports scientists, coaches and parents. Support will be offered with regular supervision from the U9-16 physiotherapist / sport therapist as well as the Under 18’s Physiotherapist.
  • Communicate closely with full-time physiotherapy / sport therapy staff, phase managers, and where possible age group coaches with regard to injured players and the health of the teams.
  • Provide medical cover for training sessions – these normally take place late afternoon / evenings on weekdays, and in the mornings on weekends.
  • Provide medical cover for FDP and YDP games – normally on Sundays, although sometimes this can change and flexibility is required. Midweek fixtures are more often during half term and pre-season.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of SOAP notes and rehabilitation sessions on a daily basis.
  • Communicate with and assist the development of the Academy Physiotherapy interns.
  • Adhere to Safeguarding policies and procedures, including the reporting of safeguarding concerns to the Academy Safeguarding Officer.
  • Keep CPD up to date.
  • Any other reasonable instructions as requested by your Line Manager and/or Academy Manager.
