The programme aims to offer opportunities to those currently underrepresented in the TV industry, so we are particularly keen to hear from Deaf and/or disabled people, ethnically diverse people and people from lower socio-economic groups.
At Channel 4, we have four core behaviours that underpin everything we do. These are outlined below, and we will be assessing candidates on these behaviours throughout the recruitment process.
Include — We’re Altogether Different; we collaborate, listen to understand, and trust each other.
Innovate — Challenge the status quo, embrace change, and take smart risks.
Grow — Share knowledge, seek feedback, and be clear with your objectives.
Get it done — Be a solution-finder, prioritise, decide and act – always commercially.
4Studio is the home of social media content at Channel 4. This includes content made about and with TV shows and talent, content with brands and sponsors, or original content for social media audiences. We distribute and manage this content across over 100 accounts. The primary activities are to curate (existing) and create (new) short-form content and distribute it through actively managed social media channels. The Social Media Apprentices will work closely with key people and departments within C4 and, on occasion, with external partners. The role will be based in C4’s National HQ in Leeds and will contribute to C4’s regional strategy, expanding opportunities outside London and broadening the company’s diversity of creative contribution.
Reporting to a Social Strategist, the Social Media Apprentice is a key member of the Channels Teams in 4Studio. You’ll experience all the different aspects of the work during rotations and will assist the team to produce and publish campaigns that drive viewers to engage with Channel content.
