About the role

As a Learning Support Assistant at Meoncross School, you will work closely with a child who has Special Educational Needs, supporting their educational and social development on a one-to-one basis. Guided by the class teacher and SENDCo, you’ll help implement the pupil’s Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), provide tailored learning support, and promote inclusion and independence within the classroom. Your role also includes assisting with playtime supervision, supporting extracurricular activities, and contributing to the child’s emotional wellbeing and progress.

This is a government funded, fixed-term contract that is linked to an individual child currently in Year 3. Hours are spread across Mon to Fri during term-time only and subject to change each academic year depending on the timetable.

Who we are looking for

You are a caring and enthusiastic individual with a strong desire to support children with special educational needs. You communicate effectively with both children and adults and are confident working 1:1 or in small groups. You have GCSEs in English and Maths (Grade C or above) and ideally experience in delivering interventions or supporting pupils with EHCPs. You’re patient, adaptable, and have a nurturing approach, helping pupils grow in confidence and achieve their full potential.
