Job summary
A leading automotive engineering consultancy in Northampton is seeking a Senior Technical Buyer to oversee procurement processes and supplier selection. You will work within company procedures while ensuring compliance with legal standards. Ideal candidates will have a proven track record in purchasing and be familiar with PDM/PLM systems. This full-time role offers opportunities for personal and career development.
Qualifications
- Experience in procurement with a focus on legal compliance and contractual negotiations.
- Ability to select suppliers based on technical know-how and financial stability.
Responsibilities
- Procure parts and services while adhering to company procedures and legal requirements.
- Analyze quotations to select suitable suppliers.
- Attend project meetings and provide necessary materials.
Skills
MAHLE Powertrain is a global engineering consultancy part of the wider MAHLE Group, specialising in the design, development & integration of both advanced internal combustion engines & electric powertrain system. Leading the development of ICE, Electro-mobility & future propulsion technologies.
As a Senior Technical Buyer reporting into the head of purchasing you will be responsible for procuring all parts & services using the company procedures, whilst at the same time working to the latest legal requirements and continually looking for the best contractual terms.
- Obtain quotations and analyse the information received to select the correct supplier
- Support and attend project meetings and provide material as necessary
- To establish that the suppliers have the required technical know-how, capacity, capability and financial stability and be responsible for supplier selection and nomination
- Knowledge of Windchill or similar PDM/PLM system is desirable.
- Ability to demonstrate a proven track record in purchasing
- General understanding of our Markets, Products & Commodities
