As an ER Specialist you will provide technical expertise to site-based people managers at three production sites: Crewkerne, Newton Abbot and Isleport. You will interpret and apply Yeo Valley’s People Policies, providing sound advice and, where required, support or lead on more complex employee relations matters. You will help ensure that people policies are well maintained and align with Yeo Valley’s purpose to nurture and nourish people and planet within our culture of co-ownership.

• Act as a point of contact and escalation for People Services Assistants, People Managers and People Partners regarding interpretation and application of People Policies.
• Work closely with people managers to provide procedural advice and guidance, enabling them to resolve people challenges and employee relations cases while ensuring co-owners are treated fairly, consistently and with our values in mind.
• Attend formal meetings to take notes, provide HR advice/guidance and ensure case files are maintained in required systems.
• Oversee attendance management, ensuring compliance with the policy and escalating concerns where appropriate.
• Support and coach people managers in line with the Supporting your Performance at Work Policy, ensuring robust management of performance improvement processes.
• Maintain People Policies with up-to-date legislative requirements and review availability/content to ensure policies provide an appropriate framework and align with YV’s purpose and culture.
• Collaborate with People Services & People Partners to review case logs and management information, ensuring fairness and consistency and identifying coaching/training opportunities to improve line manager capability.
• Act as a data expert, working with People Services, IT and stakeholders to understand people data, analytics and metrics and to create bespoke reports and dashboards.
• Lead workshops/training with People Managers to upskill and share information on new toolkits/procedures where appropriate.

• Demonstrable and relevant experience in an ER Specialist/HR Advisor role
• In-depth and up-to-date knowledge of UK employment law
• Analytical with high accuracy and attention to detail when working with data
• Strong reporting skills and confidence with data, figures, systems and spreadsheets
• Strong technical knowledge of HRIS systems and advanced MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

• Employee Relations knowledge
• Experience providing best-practice advice using internal policies

• CIPD – Level 5
• Policy creation
• FMCG/Manufacturing background
