Irthlingborough Nursery and Infant School are looking for a Teaching Assistant Apprentice to join their team. They need someone who has a genuine interest in working with young children in Early Years or Key Stage 1, and is willing to learn how to support children with Special Educational Needs. The school values children’s personal, social and emotional development as much as their academic progress. You will develop your understanding of the EYFS and KS1 curriculum, showing a commitment to helping pupils build their social and communication skills. Enthusiasm, positivity and curiosity are essential, along with dedication to supporting the school in providing the best possible education and care. The school works together with partner schools in the Learning for Life Education Trust, a locally based multi‑academy trust.
You will be required to work 30 hours 25 minutes per week, Monday to Friday, for 38 weeks per year. Daily hours are 8:45 am – 3:20 pm with 30 minutes for lunch. Holidays cannot be taken in term time, but an allowance for holiday entitlement is paid accordingly. College attendance will be once a week at the Kettering Tresham College campus, beginning in February 2026. Pay is £10 054.99 per annum based on working 30 hours 25 minutes over 43.78 weeks per year – 38 weeks working in school and 5.78 weeks paid holiday.
