- Maintain real‑time control of job flow, prioritising and adjusting workloads to maximise output.
- Ensure all work is completed within agreed timescales and Kia manufacturer standards.
- Review daily and weekly productivity, efficiency, and utilisation figures and report KPIs to management.
- Ensure all completed jobs meet Kia quality and safety requirements before vehicles are released.
Workflow & Job Management
- Oversee job cards and ensure accurate documentation, job times, and repair details are recorded.
- Liaise closely with Service Advisors to ensure correct job prioritisation and customer expectations are met.
- Coordinate with Parts to ensure all required components are available for scheduled work.
- Oversee diagnostic tasks, warranty repairs, recalls, and ensure compliance with Kia guidelines.
Team Coordination & Communication
- Support, guide, and motivate the workshop team to maintain strong performance and high morale.
- Conduct daily workshop briefings to distribute workload and communicate key priorities.
- Work closely with the Aftersales Manager to review staffing levels, technical training needs, and overall workshop performance.
Quality, Compliance & Safety
- Ensure all technicians follow Health & Safety procedures, including correct use of tools, equipment, and PPE.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and efficient workshop environment at all times.
- Ensure all warranty and compliance documentation is completed accurately.
- Support audit preparations and maintain adherence to internal and Kia manufacturer processes.
- Assist with MOT responsibilities where qualified, and provide cover as needed (MOT licence desirable).
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven hands‑on workshop experience in a main dealer environment (Kia experience advantageous).
- Ability and willingness to support technicians directly when required.
- MOT testing qualification preferred but not essential.
- Strong technical knowledge of modern vehicle systems and repair processes.
- Excellent organisational, leadership, and communication skills.
