A prestigious sports club in Manchester is seeking a Women's Assistant Coach specializing in pace bowling. The role involves supporting the Head Coach and developing players in the Thunder and Academy squads. Ideal candidates will have ECB Level 3 qualifications or be in-training, alongside proven coaching experience. Lancashire Cricket Club was formed in 1864 and is one of eighteen first class counties within the domestic structure of England and Wales. The Club’s home, Emirates Old Trafford, is an award-winning world-class venue which is recognised as one of the UK’s most prestigious and versatile spaces for sport, business, leisure, and entertainment, with the capacity for up to 50,000 concert goers; 26,000 spectators for international cricket and events and meeting spaces that can cater for up to 2,000 attendees. The stadium is home to a 150-bedroom Hilton Garden Inn hotel, which has 85 pitch facing rooms, and an on-site Caffè Nero.
The Thunder Assistant Coach will have a pace bowling specialism and will work across the Women’s Regional structure in the North West, primarily supporting the Head Coach with day-to-day leadership, delivery and planning for the senior Thunder playing squad.
We are seeking an individual with a passion for working with people and talent development who can add value to multiple environments and have a positive impact on those around them. The ability to influence, communicate effectively, and work independently and as part of a team are priorities for the role. Reporting into the Head Coach, the candidate will aid the transition of players from the Academy and influence coaching across the pathways in the region. There will be a need to have a flexible approach to working patterns, including domestic travel during the season with possible overseas training camps in winter.
We are looking for someone who holds a minimum of ECB Level 3 qualification (or international equivalent) or is currently undertaking their Level 3 qualification, with comprehensive coaching experience, and an ability to work collaboratively as part of a wider coaching team. The successful candidate will be expected to embrace the latest coaching techniques and commit to keeping records of all work on the club’s digital HIVE platform.
The post holder will be expected to work evenings and weekends as well as have flexibility to dovetail working arrangements in with fixture and training schedules that will change from year to year and across each season.
