Qualifications

Are you an experienced Welding Engineer looking to take on a technical leadership role?

Boccard UK is seeking a Welding & NDT Subject Matter Expert to join our Quality team. You will act as the technical authority for welding and non‑destructive testing across multiple projects, ensuring compliance with international standards and driving continuous improvement.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead welding and NDT strategy across nuclear and high‑integrity fabrication projects.
  • Develop and maintain welding documentation (WPS, PQR, WQR).
  • Provide technical support and mentoring to site teams.
  • Conduct audits, manage consumables, and ensure compliance with codes and standards.
  • Drive “Right First Time” performance and quality KPIs.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders, including handling technical queries and exemption requests.

What We’re Looking For:

  • ✔ IWE or EWE certification OR a Master’s degree in Welding Engineering.
  • ✔ Minimum 5 years’ experience as a subject matter expert in welding/NDT.
  • ✔ Strong knowledge of welding codes and standards (EN ISO, RCC‑M).
  • ✔ PCN Level III in at least two NDT methods.
  • ✔ CSWIP 3.1 or 3.2.
  • ✔ Experience in nuclear or high-integrity sectors (preferred but not essential).
