Weld Cell Operator

To set and operate automated weld machines. You will focus on setting automatic weld machines, producing parts to drawing, deburring, cleaning and packaging, inspecting parts with measuring equipment (gauges, verniers, micrometers), completing SOPs, maintaining production rates and machine cleanliness, complying with EHS practices, upholding Company Core Values, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives, performing other duties as required, and driving your personal development plan.

Responsibilities
  • Setting automatic weld machines
  • Producing parts to drawing, deburring, cleaning and packaging to set procedure
  • Inspecting parts using measuring equipment, Gauges, Verniers, Micrometers, etc.
  • Completing SOPs, maintaining production rates, workplace organisation, FLOAC, maintenance and cleanliness of machine equipment
  • Understanding and complying with Company Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) practices, identifying areas for improvement and supporting related initiatives
  • Understanding and complying with the Company Core Values
  • Engaging, suggesting and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and projects, as required
  • Being flexible to complete other duties when required
  • Developing and driving your own personal development plan
Qualifications

  • Inspecting parts using vernier/micrometer and gauges
  • Basic engineering drawing competency
  • Ability to work to production plans and timed production rates
  • Ability to work to daily plans and tasks using numeracy and literacy skills
  • Understanding of operating and applying safe EHS practices
  • Awareness of Continuous Improvement (CI) tools such as Six Sigma, 5Y, etc.
  • Skills are the ability to do something well; competencies are applied skills—a mixture of knowledge, ability and attitude
