WAREHOUSE OPERATIVE

Number of Roles: 1 | Division: Warehouse | Location: SEC, Normanton

Outline of role

Pick and pack of equipment in W/H to instruction. Loading and unloading of vehicles.

General W/H tasks as may be required.

Main responsibilities
  • Co-operate fully with the site safety requirements,
  • Pick and pack customer orders to achieve agreed turn-round targets, dispatching orders with appropriate paperwork. Both full pallet and manual case/break picked from the racking and ground locations,
  • Receive deliveries of customer stock from trailers into warehouse. Check quantities, record receipt and pass on paperwork,
  • Stock loading onto vehicles with customer goods in timely manner,
  • Sorting returns stock ready for Goods In,
  • Put away of customer goods from the warehouse floor into the racking,
  • PI checks on locations as required,
  • General W/H tasks, i.e. Manual handling, WH housekeeping.
Knowledge and skills required
  • Computer literate with basic IT skills and the ability to learn new warehouse systems and programs.
  • Numerate with a logical and methodical approach to issue resolution.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with colleagues and management.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in picking, packing, and stock control.
  • Ability to implement and maintain high operational standards and support continuous improvement.
  • Effective team player with good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to elevate issues appropriately to a Team Leader or Warehouse Manager.
  • Good timekeeping, reliability, and a proactive attitude to work.
  • Physically fit and able to carry out manual handling tasks as required.
Qualifications and experience
  • Previous experience in a logistics or warehouse environment.
  • FLT licence for Reach and Counterbalance trucks (preferred).
  • First Aid training (preferred).
  • NVQ Level 1 in Warehousing and Storage or equivalent (desirable).
  • Experience in stock management and control procedures.
