We have an exciting opportunity for a Ward Manager on Oakwood Ward. Oakwood Ward is an acute Mental Health Ward based at Carleton Clinic in Carlisle. Oakwood is for older adults who require a bed on a needs led basis due to their frailty/vulnerability. They will be experiencing an acute episode of mental distress that is not manageable within a community setting.
You will work jointly with the Specialist Nurse offering effective leadership and day to day management of the team.
Day to day management of the team includes recruitment of staff, conducting appraisals, managing performance and supporting the health and well‑being of staff.
The Clinical Manager will also be available to offer guidance and support on a daily basis.
You should have a collaborative and enthusiastic style as well as a passion and commitment to networking with other services.
