Volunteers - Bright Start Children's Centres

Bright Start Children’s Centre Services provide opportunities for parents & carers with children aged 0-5 years to come together to share the challenges and joys of parenthood. The services and programmes aim to support children to have the best start in life and thrive within their families and communities. We offer services across Bath East, Bath West Keynsham, Chew Valley and Somer Valley areas, with a range of activities and support services to help with all aspects of parenting to make sure every child gets the ‘best start in life’ and improve their life chances.

We have several volunteering opportunities at children’s centre sites to support our staff and the families accessing our services.

Opportunities Include Assisting With

  • Child & Family play sessions e.g.: ‘Outdoor Play and Explore’, ‘Stay & Play’ sessions
  • Portage play and explore sessions (Children with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities, SEND)
  • Children’s groups
  • Gardening
  • Buggy walks
  • Supporting families in their home who may otherwise struggle to access services

Days and times of sessions are set at the various locations.

All volunteers need to be minimum of 18 years old and be subject to an enhanced DBS.
