Gateshead Civic Centre, Regent Terrace, Gateshead, NE8 1HH, United Kingdom
Gateshead Council are creating a resource for schools and settings to support deaf children in learning British Sign Language. The resource has a list of vocabulary and the aim is to have a short video clip, showing the sign, linked to each word. We are looking for someone who is a Deaf first language BSL user to support us with creating this document.
The volunteer would need to be able to come into the Gateshead Civic Centre to record the videos and would need to be happy for us to share these across schools, organisations and online platforms. We would prefer this to be someone from the Deaf community and who the children and young people would recognise as a role model.
