Job summary

A leading telephony service provider in Redditch is searching for a Voice Engineer / Voice System Administrator. The successful candidate will support a multi-site telephony network, implement improvements, and manage Asterisk voice servers. Strong experience in VOIP, scripting, and a background in standards compliance are essential. This hybrid role allows for flexible working within a dynamic, diverse team.

Qualifications

  • Experience with Asterisk and OpenSIP, installation and configuration.
  • Strong VOIP experience in the telecoms industry.
  • Experience with scripting and automation for both Windows and Linux.
  • Knowledge of standards compliance: PCI, CE+, ISO.
  • Experience with Teams direct routing.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a pivotal person supporting a multi-site telephony network.
  • Identify areas of improvement and introduce new technologies and processes.
  • Upgrade and update hardware/software to meet system requirements.
  • Complete installation and configuration of Asterisk voice servers.
  • Maintain and configure new Bordernet SBCs for uptime requirements.

Voice Engineer / Voice System Administrator

Role Description

TelXL is looking for a Voice System Administrator with strong telephony expertise to assist us in running our Tier 1 telephony platform, enabling our partners and end customers to provide a superb communication experience to their customers.
We pride ourselves on running a highly resilient platform that meets a complex range of standards, including but not limited to PCI DSS, C+ and ISO 20071.

Location

Hybrid – 2/3 days office based in Redditch / Birmingham.

TelXL is a successful CCaaS (Contact Centre) vendor with a Tier 1 telephony platform underpinning an in‑house built software, enabling SME businesses across the UK to offer exceptional customer service to their end customers. We work across industries and our technology and platform enable customer interactions across public service, insurance, finance, utilities and leisure.

You will be working in a technically diverse team with the opportunity to expand your skill set and knowledge on a regular basis. An interest in automation/devops would be beneficial to support a multi‑site hybrid Windows/Linux hardware platform during a period of change.

Responsibilities

  • Upgrade and update hardware/software to meet system requirements, increasing productivity and ensuring stability.
  • Complete installation and configuration of Asterisk voice servers to meet customer and service uptime requirements.
  • Maintain and configure new Bordernet SBCs to meet customer and service uptime requirements.
Ideal Experience
  • Experience with Asterisk and OpenSIP, installation and configuration.
