Job description

Highly successful, niche business is currently seeking a Transport Operations / Route Planning Manager for the Vehicles Depot in Wrexham. Great opportunity to join a well established and continually expanding business within a fantastic industry. Excellent package on offer.

The Operations Manager Will Be Responsible For

• Managing and improving overall operational performance of the site, with a focus on Route efficiency and planning (multi drop routes)
• The role will have direct line management of ca. 60 staff and a fleet of 25 vehicles including route officers to ensure that the routes are planned and sequenced in advance, and working with the Depot Manager.
• Looking at route efficiency, ensuring collections are made from all the customers
• Manning the trucks with drivers and loaders and planning around holidays with agency staff as required

Working with the Depot Manager, as Operations Manager you will need to be aware of all activity on site including opening and closing.

The successful candidate will have experience in logistics / operation management and route planning.

With excellent communication, inter-personal, analytical and Microsoft skills, the successful candidate will be able to work in a team, organise and prioritise workload to meet deadlines and have a flexible approach.

A full driving licence and flexibility to travel for meetings/training/site visits is essential.
