You will be a leader in the field of wastewater process science/engineering and, working alongside our large multi-disciplinary engineering teams, have a unique opportunity to help shape the future of wastewater infrastructure, delivering multi-million-pound engineering projects that make a lasting impact on communities and the environment.

  • review, audit and approve technical reports, appraisals, designs and drawings (both internal and external) to ensure that all comply with YTL health and safety, technical, legal and environmental standards
  • attend project design review meetings to challenge, where required, design solutions and any assumptions made in their development to highlight any risk concerns or areas of non-compliance with YTL design and industry standards
  • update, challenge and/or develop YTL design standards, specifications, standard products and standard drawings to ensure that they represent sound engineering practice and are fit for purpose
  • represent YTL at national specialist technical groups and working parties
  • attend technical approval boards, comprising representatives of project stakeholders, to approve all technical aspects of projects
  • undertake investigations and appraisals of new technology to assess their suitability for implementation
  • ensure new technologies provide the best value engineering solutions whilst considering risk and value, whole life costs and carbon emissions
  • provide training, mentoring, support and guidance to all engineering and technical staff.

This is a hybrid role and combines the flexibility and autonomy of remote working, whilst remaining connected to the team in Bath.
