Main Purpose of the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Technical Development Assistant to join us as part of our Group Technical Department, based from our Doncaster head office with agile/hybrid working. This is a fixed term contract role to cover maternity leave for a period of around six months. Reporting to the Technical Development Director, the successful candidate will provide administration support service to the department, while developing their own technical and architectural knowledge and skills. The Technical Development Assistant will support all Technical Development team members and demonstrate strong relationships through ability to work cross functionally to achieve successful outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Administer drawings and specifications to document registers
  • Issue technical memos
  • Update the departments SharePoint and Asite pages
  • General administrative duties such as attending meetings and taking minutes
  • Set up and maintain filing systems
  • Coordinate diaries for the team
  • Assist with the monthly update and coordination of reporting in line with NHBC requirements
  • Distribute analysis to regions and monitor reporting showing NHBC statistics across the groups
HS&S Responsibilities

Skills, Knowledge & Experience
  • Passionate about construction and design and joining one of the UK’s largest housebuilders during a period of growth
  • Collaborative, confident and enthusiastic, able to work alone and as part of a team, with a professional attitude and approach to work
  • Approach work in a straightforward manner, possessing excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Creative, with an eye for design and the ability to communicate well both in writing and verbally
  • Quick learner with the ability to use standard IT packages such as Excel
  • English and Maths GCSE grade 4/C or equivalent minimum
  • Current or ongoing qualification in a construction-related subject desirable
  • Advanced Excel skills, experience of SharePoint or Asite, and any past experience of construction or design
