This hybrid technical and logistical role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands‑on work, problem‑solving, and being part of a fast‑paced, supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Daily corridor walk of entire trust to collect service beds
  • Clean collected service beds, ready for engineers to service/repair
  • Ward walks of entire trust to search for service beds, place tags on beds
  • Communicate with ward staff for the return of device to bed store (may include delivering service bed to ward, speeding process and removal of unused beds, cleaning in bed store; no patient contact involved)
  • Assist engineers with workload if required (check over of equipment in service; if large build‑up in workshop to allow quick redeployment of devices)
  • Support technicians with planned and corrective maintenance tasks on hospital beds and related equipment (training provided)
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, COSHH, Manual Handling, and infection prevention regulations

Above is the standard daily activities we will be recruiting for; there will be opportunity for progression and practical service/maintenance work on beds and mattress pumps, with a view to a potential apprenticeship should applicant be suitable. All of which will be secondary to main daily activities.

About You

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • Organised, proactive, and willing to learn new technical skills
  • Able to work effectively as part of a busy team
  • Committed to quality, safety, and excellent service delivery
  • A good communicator with a positive, customer‑focused attitude
  • Comfortable with physical activity, such as moving and handling hospital equipment (training provided)
