A leading autism support organization is seeking a Teaching and Learning Assistant based in London to support autistic children at Sybil Elgar School. This full-time role requires a caring, resilient individual who can work independently as well as in a team. Join us as a Teaching and Learning Assistant at The National Autistic Society.

We provide a wide range of services to support autistic children and young people. We improve and enhance education, care and experiences to help autistic children and young people fulfil their potential.

Who We Are Looking For

We are looking for an individual who has a passion to work in an organisation that specialises in autism, supporting autistic children and adults on the autism spectrum to live the lives they choose. This role is based in our school, and the main part of your role will be to support our pupils during the day. This advert is for a full‑time, permanent position – 37 hours per week.

  • Patient, inspiring, caring and sensitive towards the needs of vulnerable people
  • Good listener, able to report and record information accurately
  • Team player and able to work independently with little support as required
  • Resilient, able to work proactively with challenging behaviour
  • Willing and able to provide personal care to individuals as required
  • Individuals who value diversity, health and safety and are committed to safe working practice
You May Also Have
  • a personal connection to autism or a desire to work with people with autism
  • real life experience supporting autistic adults or children with autism in a paid or voluntary capacity
