Job description
Overview

Swimming Teachers - Lymm High School. Lymm Leisure Centre (based at Lymm High School) is looking for passionate, enthusiastic and reliable swimming teachers to join our teaching team. We deliver high quality swimming lessons following the Swim England Learn to Swim framework to over 650 swimmers each week, including primary school swimming lessons for local children. The role involves teaching people of various ages and abilities to develop swimming skills, technique and confidence in a safe environment. Primary school lessons are assessed against the KS2 National Curriculum criteria, and our Learn to Swim lessons follow Swim England’s Learn to Swim pathway.

Responsibilities
  • Be a positive role model and create a positive, fun environment to motivate and encourage children and adults to participate in swimming.
  • Deliver lessons in accordance with the scheme of work.
  • Ensure safe provision and correct use of all equipment.
  • Identify participants' abilities and encourage them to reach their full potential.
  • Demonstrate swimming techniques and correct faults to improve performance.
  • Regularly assess each participant's ability and progress, and maintain records on assessment sheets weekly.

Salary: NJC Grade 6 (£15.60 - £17.52 per hour) – Must be Level 2 Swim England (SE) or STA Certificate Teacher

Contract type / Hours: Casual; Wednesdays 9:30am – 2:30pm for primary school swimming lesson delivery. Additional opportunities to cover learn to swim lessons (Mon–Thu evenings and Saturday mornings) may be available. Further regular teaching opportunities will arise in the future.
