Job summary

A leading support organization in Southampton is seeking a Support Worker to provide high-quality, flexible support to individuals with learning disabilities. This is a permanent, full-time role (37.5 hours/week) offering a salary of £24,570 per annum, pro-rata, along with 32 days of paid holiday and other benefits. Flexibility in shift work is required, including evenings and weekends.

Calling all compassionate and dedicated individuals! Mencap is seeking passionate a Support Worker to join our incredible team in Southampton. The position is permanent and full time (37.5 hours per week)

About our Service

At our Southampton service, we support seven people with learning disabilities who share a welcoming and active home. They enjoy socialising, meals out and many other things.

As part of our team, you’ll provide high-quality, flexible support tailored to each person’s needs. Your role is to empower individuals to live as independently as possible and to make the most of every day—at home and in the community.

What we\'re looking for:

  • A genuine passion for supporting others.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • A positive and empathetic attitude towards individuals with learning disabilities.

Shift times:

All our services are 24hr care. We prepare the rotas at least 4 weeks in advance so you can still plan your personal and social life!

  • Days: Between 07:00-22:00
  • Sleep-ins: 22:00-07:00
  • There is also a sleep-in available where you will receive an enhanced flat rate payment of £63.70.
