About the Role

At Bright Futures, we believe every person with autism or a learning disability deserves the chance to thrive. We are looking for a passionate and enthusiastic Support Worker to join our specialist home in St Helens. The home currently supports one individual and will soon welcome two more, making this an important period of transition.

Our quiet residential setting offers a calm, welcoming environment where individuals can feel comfortable and supported.

As a Support Worker you will be a key part of a young person or adults support team, listening to their wishes, planning meaningful activities, championing their communication goals and keeping meticulous records. You will help create a warm, stimulating environment while working a mix of day shifts and sleeps to meet individual needs.

You’ll do more than provide care – you’ll be a mentor, advocate and source of encouragement, helping the people you support achieve their own outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Provide person‑centred care and support tailored to individual needs.
  • Build trusting relationships and support emotional and behavioural needs using Positive Behaviour Support (PBS).
  • Assist with daily living activities such as personal care, meal preparation, medication and household tasks.
  • Promote independence and choice, encouraging individuals to make their own decisions wherever possible.
  • Support day‑to‑day activities to ensure individuals make the most of every opportunity.
Qualifications & Experience

  • Passionates about person‑centred care.
  • Is resilient and tenacious.
  • Is positive and proactive.
  • Is enthusiastic and willing to learn.
  • Has strong teamwork and communication skills.

Experience in care is beneficial but not essential as full training will be provided.

Full UK Driving Licence is advantageous.

Salary & Benefits
  • £32,046.55 – £32,489.74 (based on experience and 1 sleep‑in per week).
  • Skills Based Pay – the more skills and qualifications you gain, the greater the reward.
  • Clearly defined career pathways with ample opportunities to progress.
  • Healthcare Cashback (dental, optical, physio, wellbeing).
  • Care Friends Referral rewards up to £2,000.
  • Bright Stars scheme & Employee of the Month awards.
  • Free meals on shift.
  • Life Assurance Policy 2× salary.
  • Cycle to Work Scheme.
  • Holiday entitlement increasing with each year of service.
